creative collaboration

I’m working on a new creative collaboration and coincidentally a new life plan. Always remember that Inspiration can be found in the strangest of places…. I have been collecting textiles for decades and it is finally time to put them to good use.  What was I ‘saving them for later’?  I think later is now.  I have thrifted dishtowels, brocade, vintage curtains, fabric samples, old skirts, canvas bags and pillows to be repurposed and yardage by the mile.  It’s a treasure trove of gorgeousness and potential.  I also ordered a large shipment of smart little surplus Czech military bags from the 50’s to embellish.  OH THE POSSIBILITIES.  Since the darkness of winter proves to be a tough time for me, I am going to embrace it in my newly cleaned artist studio (still a work in progress) with candles, music and icy cold sparkling drinks (thanks @POPPI for being my new crush).  I’ve put together some prototypes, been playing with zippers and am getting my plan ready. Thanks to very old friends (circa 1989) and new friends (born in 2005) for the inspiration. You guys rock!

For now, getting thru the Christmas holiday is the next task at hand, but after that, WATCH OUT. And wish me luck, please. I hope 2024 treated you well and I look forward to amazing things for 2025. Take care out there.
